Is amethyst and rose quartz a good combo for my first DIY necklace?

I've been thinking about making my own jewelry with crystals for a while now, and I'm finally ready to start! There's something special about creating a piece yourself, choosing stones that really mean something to you.

I want to make my first necklace with amethyst and rose quartz. Do you think those work well together? I'd also love to see any design ideas or links for inspiration if you have them!
