It seems from my observation that on message boards, people often express a dislike for Virgos, whereas this doesn't seem to be the case in real life, at least in my experience. I wonder if it's because we so deeply enjoy debate, banter, and the exchange of ideas. Perhaps being Mercury ruled, with that intense love of learning, makes Virgos come across as highly intelligent, which might be intimidating and lead others to lash out. Yet, as a mutable sign, I've found that our opinions and ideas are always open to change; my personal motto has always leaned toward 'never say never.' We seem to be perpetually seeking to upgrade our understanding.
We also appear to have a pretty sharp radar for detecting what's fake, which might be another aspect about us that feels intimidating to some. We tend to be quite blunt and direct. Honesty and authenticity feel fundamentally important, and we generally have a strong aversion to anything or anyone that feels insincere. In my actual day to day life, however, I can't recall ever having a real problem with anyone. I genuinely like to make people feel happy; my personality is often described as bubbly, welcoming, and outgoing. I've organized large social groups in the past, and I believe one of my strengths was in entertainment and making newcomers feel immediately comfortable and included. I'm currently exploring a new spiritual project, and I have a feeling I'll be back out there next year, connecting with groups again I'm really looking forward to it. It's a bit puzzling to me why the common perception of a Virgo is that of a quiet librarian.
